July 25, 2010

A couple months ago I did a post on Quark Promote. I try writing about products and services that I have used or use regularly and after posting the piece, I did use their services to create some new business cards. Sheep’s Feet and Marlinspikes

July 22, 2010

Growing up I always wanted a Swiss Army knife. Not the simple kind with the blade, toothpick and tweezers. I wanted the one with everything, even what I would never use. I did eventually get one, but not until I was much older. When the family used to go hiking in the Dolomites in Northern Italy we were equipped with an all purpose Opinel knife. Like many French blades it is indestructible (and beieve me, my complimenting the French is almost unheard of). Read the rest at The Dapper Dad.

KidsSave

In the past when I ran upon something interesting that I needed to save, I would cut and paste it into a word document or write down the website url on a piece of paper. This method is cumbersome and isn’t very transportable. Carrying around a flash drive or multiple pieces of paper is a pain in the booty! All this changed for me when I started using Evernote. Need a Logo, Let Hatchwise Handle It

April 15, 2010

I have been through the process of designing a logo for a company. We were fortunate that we knew a person who had design experience and was able to create out logo for a small fee. But if we had gone to a graphic design company, the costs would have been ten times what we paid. But with the advent of the commercial design software, amateur designs are not able to match the designs that large design companies produce. Read more…
